Why am I listed as a Parent if I am really a Student?
Honeywell Instant Alert was originally designed for a K-12 setting, in which Parents were responsible for updating personal profiles for their Students. Because most Mitchell students are over 18, they are considered both the Parent and the Student in the Honeywell system. For additional information, please email askLIS@mitchell.edu.
How are the Levels of Alert used?
There are currently three levels of alert:
College Closing - unscheduled College closings and delays
High Importance - all other campus safety emergencies
General - not used at this time. As we continue to develop the use of Instant Alert on campus, we will post more information about this level.
My birthday is incorrect in my Honeywell profile. Can I change it?
When we shared information with Honeywell to setup student accounts, we decided not to share birthday information as some may consider this to be private. However, Honeywell requires a date in this field, so they have entered a dummy date for every student.
Birthday information in your profile has no effect on how alerts are sent through the system. As such, requests to correct birthdates will not be fulfilled.
It should also be noted that the birthdate information within Honeywell does not affect the birthdate information on record with the College.
