.Tue, 6/5/07 6:40 PMI like it
.Tue, 6/5/07 6:43 PMLike it a lot.
.Tue, 6/5/07 6:46 PMgood website overall
.Tue, 6/5/07 7:04 PMNOTE: most give the new site a basic try ... your survey seems to assume that that have instead done a full blown evaulation. By not letting the user progress through the survey if they don't answer certain questions you force them to rank items that they may well have not had a chance to evaluate. Some video content ... live on-campu webcams, etc. might nice (of course this might already been present and I did not run across it).
.Tue, 6/5/07 7:06 PMNone
.Tue, 6/5/07 7:12 PMwhile i'm sure that the college want's to appeal to new students. don't for get those who came before lots of flash may chase those with poor eyes away it also is distracting
.Tue, 6/5/07 7:12 PMFix the sign in so, that I can log in.
.Tue, 6/5/07 7:16 PMNice job!!
.Tue, 6/5/07 7:22 PMCopy is ok but should leverage bullet copy more. will programs be hot linked so you can find out more information about each one?
.Tue, 6/5/07 7:30 PMIt's not much of an improvement from the current site, in fact it's a step backward from a design standpoint
.Tue, 6/5/07 7:45 PMI think you did a great job.
.Tue, 6/5/07 8:28 PMNO
.Tue, 6/5/07 8:29 PMI was wondering what happened to Past President, Dr Robert Weller...it said a new president was named in 1994, but nothing about Dr. Weller.
.Tue, 6/5/07 8:38 PMVery appealing
.Tue, 6/5/07 8:47 PMI already have mentioned some points.
.Tue, 6/5/07 9:07 PMI think getting survey info will help to ensure that we have a more effective site.
.Tue, 6/5/07 9:39 PMMy comments are intended to be constructive not harsh. I do this for a living as VP of Communications for a company in Hartford.
.Tue, 6/5/07 10:06 PMIt will be great when it's up and running.
.Tue, 6/5/07 10:57 PMYES.....thank you. this is WONDERFUL!!!!!!
.Tue, 6/5/07 11:39 PMnone
.Wed, 6/6/07 12:11 AMPages that just fill the screen and don't require scrolling to see the whole picture would be nicer.
.Wed, 6/6/07 12:46 AMclean the clutter other than that it is a nice site!
.Wed, 6/6/07 1:00 AMIt seems that a lot of effort was put into the homepage (changing graphics, sounds, etc.) but not as much effort was put into the other links. There is too much text. I would also include quotes from students. Include their hometown and city to show the diversity that is represented at Mitchell. Also, make the section on Thames Academy more visible. I had to search to find it. Some families can't decide whether to apply to Thames or Mitchell once they know that Thames Academy exists. Either decision is beneficial to Mitchell's admission and retention.
.Wed, 6/6/07 1:00 AMI think you are on the right path to making Mitchell distinctive from other stock layout college sites. This new site did not make me feel like I was on a shopping site which is a very good thing. Great job!
.Wed, 6/6/07 1:36 AMno
.Wed, 6/6/07 1:48 AMno
.Wed, 6/6/07 2:10 AMit looks great.
.Wed, 6/6/07 12:08 PMContent font on front page appears too small, esp. relative to graphics.
.Wed, 6/6/07 12:41 PMIt looks great so far!!
.Wed, 6/6/07 1:20 PMVery Good
.Wed, 6/6/07 1:49 PMNot at this time.
.Wed, 6/6/07 3:19 PMNo
.Wed, 6/6/07 3:20 PMno.
.Wed, 6/6/07 4:15 PMI'm disappointed, upset with inaccurate content, and irritated that this is taking so long and going so poorly. I believe the website will be put up with many of these issues unresolved, and we'll have to fight for years to get them fixed. This is not better than what we have now.
.Wed, 6/6/07 4:37 PMThe website looks great!
.Wed, 6/6/07 6:41 PMvery creative.
.Wed, 6/6/07 7:19 PMmaybe to add residence life on the web to decribe the dormitories look like and have photos of it as an idea.
.Wed, 6/6/07 7:26 PMFor question 16 I had to put an answer but really it depended on the page. Some were too long (campus clubs) others were fine.
.Wed, 6/6/07 8:50 PMNice job. Keep it going now.
.Wed, 6/6/07 11:07 PMno
.Wed, 6/6/07 11:15 PMLets try and keep photos and information on the new site up to date...especially Athletics!!!!
.Thu, 6/7/07 1:41 PMMore variety of images of student activities and student life would be nice.
.Thu, 6/7/07 6:32 PMGraphics are nice (moving ones and all), but simple is ok, too! Sometimes 'simple' gets the point across better than 'flashy' [what point are you making other than aesthetic - that Mitchell is technologically advanced?] Alphabetize topics for faster navigation. A web site is 'visual', so add photos of what each page 'advertises'.
.Thu, 6/7/07 11:08 PMNo.
.Fri, 6/8/07 12:34 AMno
.Fri, 6/8/07 1:05 AMgreat start
.Fri, 6/8/07 12:20 PMIts Great!!!
.Fri, 6/8/07 5:43 PMMany schools now allow students to register for classes online, check grades and see an unofficial transcript online. I think Mitchell should try something like that out!
.Sat, 6/9/07 2:18 AMI would make it eaier to find the information that students need to find daily on the mitchell cite easy.
.Sat, 6/9/07 2:24 PMYour survey has automatically assumed that each person who has viewed the site has taken a very thorough walk through the site. This is a poor assumption and your survey should be revised. In fact, your survey may even cause people to move away from the survey entiely. This could potentially occur if people felt as if their time was no longer being well spent. It may also stem from the fact that they no longer feel as if their opinions were being well represented. That would occur if you haven't offered a choice that represents the way they feel about the subject. This could be rectified by offering a "n/a or don't know" resonse option in every field and for every question. This will also tell you where people are directing their attention b/c you should get more "n/a or don't know" responses in areas of less interest.
.Mon, 6/11/07 6:51 PMWhen the site is all completed, I'm sure that it'll look great. Even better than the previous site.
.Tue, 6/12/07 5:05 PMTwo words: usability study.
.Wed, 6/13/07 2:20 PMless noise, less reliance on Flash
.Wed, 6/13/07 2:38 PM1.Site concept and feel IS "warm" transmitting a friendly feel... 2.Use school colors on every page? 3.Use personal vignettes: maybe just the start of a sentence with link to "...more for full story" eg: (...successful students or student's own internship stories on student page...parents story, a faculty story/quote/passion on facutly page...etc.) 4. On new students and families page...my experiance is that most prospective students focus primarily on facilities, athletics, things to do...therefore those things should be featured in photos and photos should link to more photos or to related content.(separate part of page for parents?)
.Wed, 6/13/07 4:03 PMNice job, better than the old one
.Wed, 6/13/07 4:35 PMput a picture of me on it
.Wed, 6/13/07 5:36 PMIt is too early to conduct this survey, as the many pages are not ready yet. How can you answer to the question about how difficult is it to locate certain information, when the information is not there yet, and the "search" option re-directs you to the old page?
.Wed, 6/13/07 5:46 PMFinancial in the left menu- needs its spelling to be corrected. Overall I like the new web site and I think vistors will enjoy their visit to the new web site. One characteristic of an excellent web site is keeping their information current. There is nothing worst than finding out dated info on a web site.
.Wed, 6/13/07 6:05 PMOnce a menu is chosen on the homepage (e.g.Current Students, Faculty & Staff), does the next page need to repeat the original menu + scroll thus using such a large space? This seems repetitive.
.Thu, 6/14/07 2:27 AMSeems to be a slight problem with Student Faculty page using Firefox 2.0.0.4. When I open the page I need to scroll down one page. All I see is the Header and then the yellow background...probably a CSS issue.
.Thu, 6/14/07 5:03 PMIt is a HUGE improvement over the current one.
.Thu, 6/14/07 6:16 PMno
.Sat, 6/16/07 12:45 PMWonderful keep up the good work!
.Sun, 6/17/07 12:48 PMNone at this time.
.Tue, 6/19/07 3:13 PMI think the Mitchell College website is most appealing. It's kind of... spunky!
.Tue, 6/19/07 5:42 PMno
.Tue, 6/19/07 6:15 PMNot at this time.
.Fri, 6/22/07 7:52 PMno
.Fri, 6/22/07 8:26 PMno
.Fri, 6/22/07 8:29 PMI think I've said enough! lol Good luck - and thanks for the chance to add my two cents in! :)
.Fri, 6/22/07 8:30 PMNO
.Fri, 6/22/07 9:20 PMGreat look. Very professional. How can Mitchell be included in the "361 best colleges in America?" My daughter is going to U.N.H.(NH) to study business. One of our requirements was for her to be looking at only those colleges....UNH, Bryant, etc....
.Sat, 6/23/07 12:08 AMKeep up the good work Mitchell!! :-)
.Sat, 6/23/07 12:58 AMLooks good so far.
.Sat, 6/23/07 3:04 AMObviously it is not complete, but some sections of the "Future Students and Families" are not as thorough as may be needed for a well-rounded presentation of the school(ie: Student Life). Perhaps links to videos or some kind of interactive presentation would add to the quality of the website. Additionally, on the "Library and Information Technologies" page of the "Future Students" the heading overlaps with the "Print this page" icon (this also occurs in several other sections of the site), which, although minor, detracts from the professional appearance of the site. Some other minor issues are: On the Welcome Section of the General Public and Visitors, there is a link that is in purple. this does not mesh with the background and is very difficult to see. Possibly the bookstore could have a page to purchase products. Possibly the student life section could have a list of clubs with each linking to a web page where the clubs could design a web page with announcements/information about the club. Again the print this page icon interferes, more noticeably, on the alumni community sign in page. Lastly, some of the sections of the Alumni/Friends area of the site are in black text, which does not match with the background nor does it fit in with the prevailing theme of white text. I must say again, the overall feel and look of the sight is very good, except for the repetitive sound effects at the log in page. Hopefully my brief look at the site and the resulting comments can be of help in your pursuit of a superior web site. Please feel free to contact me at mattbru25@hotmail.com with any more questions.
.Sat, 6/23/07 3:29 AMMoves too quickly.
.Sat, 6/23/07 12:03 PMno
.Sat, 6/23/07 1:34 PMit's great, the red/white color is more reflective of Mitchell, it's easier to navigate, page loads are quicker & the combonation of pictures & text is well balanced, the pictures really reflect the theme/culture of Mitchell, and the menus are more descriptive & faster to find what you are looking for in the initial pages. (as opposed to going from page to page to page to get to where you want to be). Nice job!
.Sat, 6/23/07 2:47 PM1) You should have links to Financial Aid info. 2) Video interviews with current students describing their life @ Mitchell. 3) Video of the Dorms, Gym, New London, etc.
.Sat, 6/23/07 9:24 PMno

.Mon, 6/25/07 12:13 AMJust a thought...Does it have to have the black sidelines??
.Mon, 6/25/07 2:39 AMLooks great right now can't wait till it gets done completely.
.Mon, 6/25/07 3:03 PMwell done!
